We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our team. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns as well as general accounting concepts associated with client's books and records. This is a critical role that requires strong knowledge of tax law and general ledger accounting. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the clients' tax liability.
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Develop, organize, maintain and review digital workpapers to support tax return engagements.
- Participate in the preparation of routine correspondence and reports, the development or maintenance of spreadsheets, and the research of complex technical issues.
- Develop general knowledge and understanding of tax preparation and/or the preparation of financial statements.
- Become familiar with firm policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Become familiar with clients' businesses and the unique aspects of each client's industry to begin establishing strong client relationships.
- Actively promote and facilitate teamwork and respect in a supportive and collaborative office environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to monitor work status to meet deadlines and quality control standards; appropriately prioritize multiple assignments.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations
- Conduct research on tax issues and provide guidance to partners and clients.
- Manage relationships with clients and other service providers
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements and reports.
- Review general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of tax and GAAP principles and stay up-to-date with changes in tax and accounting regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA certification required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in tax planning and compliance in a public accounting environment with experience working with individual, trust, corporate and pass-through tax returns.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and GAAP principles.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
